Mobipreneur

Mobipreneur is a event for Mobile developers and Entrepreneurs. The aim of the event is to raise developers’ awareness of the difference between Symbian, Blackberry, Windows Phone, Andriod, Windows Phone and IOS platforms and how to develop using all development tools on such platforms. Most of the speakers will talk about Nokia platform, Windows phone development, Java and HTML5 as well focusing on the future of mobile entrepreneurship.

Mobipreneur is a Mobile Entrepreneur Community founded by Ahmed Rabieh after the Egyptian Revolution.

Why Mobipreneur?

The mobile applications field is now one of the ripe fields that most people are focusing on. There are so many different platforms and people’s need for applications on the go is increasing everyday. Adobe, RIM, Google and Nokia definitely have the right set of tools to help make mobile development easy, fast and reliable. And this is what people need a simple and reliable application to serve their needs on their mobile phones. Hence Mobiprenuer is aimed to shed the light on mobile development on different platforms.

Why Egypt Now?

The recent line of political upheavals in Egypt is re-shaping political, economic and social structures of the country, which implies:
- Revamp of the country’s constitution, legislative field, and economic situation
- Revision and adjustment of values in accordance to the new reality
- Planning and working towards a new vision of the country

Now is the time for innovation and finding new techniques to increase profitability and the field of mobile development offers a wide variety of applications that are becoming more of a necessity than a mere good to have.

Prof. Dr. Ashraf Farghaly

CEO, Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center

Ashraf ElFarghaly Salem is the CEO of the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC). He
was a professor of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, Egypt

Prof. Salem obtained his Ph.D. from Grenoble University, France in 1992. He got his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in
Computer Engineering from Ain Shams university in 1983, 1987 respectively.

Dr. Salem published more than 80 scientific articles in the fields of Computer Aided design of Digital
circuits. He chaired the technical committees in a number of international conference, and he
supervised more than 20 PhD and M. Sc. thesis in digital design and Embedded systems. Also, he
participated in a number of international research projects and developed one of the pioneer research
product for circuit verification in the eighties.

Dr. Salem was a cofounder of a software firm and he participated in the establishment of another
company that then has been acquired by a multinational and became one of the largest multinational
development centers in Egypt.

Prof. Salem also participated in defining and developing the curriculum of the Information Technology
Institute in 1993 and he participated in the establishment of Software Competence Center in 200.

Ahmed Rabieh is an Entrepreneur, Founder of Mobipreneur “Mobile Entrepreneurship Egypt”, Author and trainer. Working as an Rich Internet Apps Specialist at ITWorx and leading multiple tech communities in MENA such Adobe Community and BlackBerry User Group. Ahmed also served as Adobe Community Champion and Adobe Community Professional worldwide.

Mohamed AbdelJalil

Mohamed AbdelJalil

Nokia Business Development Manager, North Africa and LEVANT area

Mohamed is responsible for Nokia’s Business Development for North Africa and LEVANT Area, based in Cairo, Egypt. He worked for Nokia since the summer of 2006 holding various positions in the Nokia Services, Solutions Sales and Markets team.

He is a key contributor to the Nokia Ecosystem engagement program in North Africa and in Egypt in particular. During his current assignment he led many local initiatives in the market like the Nokia launched Mobile Lab for Egypt and Mobile Monday Egypt Chapter.

He has a diverse technical background, business and strong network in the MEA developer community, holding a BSC degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Ain Shams University.

Finally, he is devout tech geek and love to be called by nickname Galilu.

Ahmed Sabbour

Regional Technical Manager at Nokia

Ahmed act as Regional Technical Manager in Nokia with a masters in Computer Science and Engineering from the German University. Covering the India, Middle East and Africa region, part of the Ecosystem Developer Experience team. Responsible for assisting key partners and developers in getting their applications to market.

Mohamed Yamama

Windows Phone Developer Evangelist MEA, Microsoft

Mohamed Yamama is the Windows Phone Developer Evangelist for Microsoft Middle East and Africa. He works on evangelizing Windows Phone Platform and development to MEA developers. Yamama’s history with mobile development is not recent. He developed an application on Windows Mobile during the Imagine Cup 2009 in Egypt that was awarded the “Best Windows Mobile Application” trophy by Steve Ballmer personally. Yamama holds a Bachelor degree in Computer Science from the American University in Cairo.

Ziad Aly

CEO & Founder of ALZWAD for Mobile Services. Founder of MASRENA an NGO concerned with Building Egypt 2.0

Ziad Aly has more than 20 years experience in Business Development and Senior Management in IT, Logistics & Transportation and Telecommunication. Before founding ALZWAD, Ziad was an Executive Board Member at Vodafone. He is an evangelist on the role of Mobile Internet in changing the MENA region.

He received a B.A. from the American University in Cairo and has had Management and Leadership training from IMD, Harvard Business School , etc… .

Dr. Ayman A.M. Ibrahim

Head of Open Innovation, Orange Labs

Dr. Ibrahim joined Orange Labs since its inception in 2008 and is currently leading the Open-Innovation and Socio-Economic Development strategy and activities.
Before that, he worked with Orange Business Services as Freelance Principal Consultant on Large Service Development Projects.
Between 2006 and 07, Dr. Ibrahim joined the National Telecommunication Institute to establish its e-Learning Center. Previous to this position, he was with the French University in Egypt. He established and chaired the ICT Department, at the Faculty of Engineering. He was also the CTO of the University. From 1999-2005, Dr. Ibrahim was leading the Mobility Architecture Team and was the Mobility Champion for Shell IT International, in the Hague, the Netherlands. He holds a Ph.D. in Multimedia Networks from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST-Bretagne), France.

Ramzi Alharayeri

President of ALZWAD for Mobile Services (ZMS)

Ramzi Alharayeri, president of ALZWAD for Mobile Services (ZMS) has more than 25 years experience in the wireless and mobile technology development. He is the Founder and CEO of XimoXi, a silicon valley based company that innovated and patented the ability to search for members of social networks by phone. Prior to XimoXi, Mr. Alharayeri was the CEO and founder of wi2wi which was the first SiP (System in Package) company to innovate multi wireless technologies in a chip. Before Wi2Wi, Mr. Alharayeri was the GM of the wireless Division and VP of Sales for Actiontec. During his tenure at Actiontec, Ramzi led the team that introduced to the PC industry the first built-in modem in 1997, the first WiFi device in the industry in 2000 and the first PC Bluetooth device in 2003. Prior to Actiontec, Mr. Alharayeri held several management positions at AMD, Logitech, SCI and Apple.

Director of Innovation support department at the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center in Egypt (TIEC). has over 15 years of experience in the ICT sector in areas related to Innovation support. Sally participated in developing the Egyptian Technology Innovation & Entrepreneurship strategy and Establishing the Innovation & Entrepreneurship platform, The Collaborative Innovation Network (CoIN) , Cloud Computing Competency center.

Sally holds a Master of Management of Technology, Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, PMP , Post graduate certificate in software skills Development and has B.Sc. in Electrical
Engineering.

Ahmed Aboulmagd is the Academic Developer Evangelist for Microsoft Egypt. He is in charge of such Microsoft academic programs such as the Imagine Cup, Microsoft Student Partner, and DreamSpark. Giving himself and helping others is his passion and his experience in the education sector allows him to do just this. Ahmed has been helping students and professors excel through these and other opportunities.
